Hussein Ahmed, the Canadian Minister of Housing, Diversity, and Inclusion, has arrived in Nigeria for the inauguration of Nigeria’s new president, Bola Tinubu, according to The PUNCH.
The Canadian high commission announced this in a tweet from its official Twitter handle, @CanadaInNigeria, saying, “Canada in Nigeria is delighted to welcome The Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, to Nigeria, for the presidential inauguration ceremony of President-Elect, H.E Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.”
The commission also stated in a statement that the minister would meet with civil society and youth representatives, and that “Canada and Nigeria share strong bilateral ties, and Canada looks forward to continuing to collaborate with Nigeria on shared priorities, including trade opportunities and regional security, under the leadership of the new president.”
“While in Nigeria, Minister Hussein will meet with civil society representatives, youth, and international partners to discuss Nigeria’s efforts to promote inclusion and respect for diversity.”
