Bola Tinubu, the president-elect was asked by the Nigerian Institution of Estateaterveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Ogun state branch, asked to revisit and seek an amendment to the land use act.
During the celebrations of this year’s valuation day, state chairman ESV Bola Orekoya made the call in Abeokuta, with the theme “Valuation: the key to decision making for asset and resource optimization.”
Orekoya said the amendment was “long overdue.” Orekoya said the land use decree 6 of 1978, which is now an act, was long overdue for a revision.
In his remarks, ESV Sali Shobanke said “Land is a requirement for all aspects of life and since all development takes place on land, land must be taken seriously.”
