The current naira scarcity which was occasioned by the currency swap policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is affecting the healthcare system negatively in the country.
Many Patients were denied access to healthcare facilities because many of the facilities operate mainly cash-only and the problem of poor e-payment systems affected the transactions badly.
Due to the problems associated with E-payment systems many patients die at home after being unattended and lack access to medical facilities.
Some reports also disclose that one Pregnant woman dies over naira scarcity in Kasuwar Magani in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
